September 11th marked the five year anniversary of a large scale terrorist attack on our country. I was a little saddened to see that more people didn't mark the day by putting out U.S. flags. I noticed that quite a few flags weren't lowered to half-mast either. Life seemed to be going on as normal. I saw a few flags brought out here and there, but nothing compared to the out pouring I saw after September 11th, 2001. Do we stop mourning after five years? Do we just forget and move on? Has September 11th become just another footnote in our short history as a nation? Have we forgotten that we are still engaged in a war that we can't afford to loose? I pray not.
